Xbox Games with Gold Predictions for August 2019
The Bigger Game – Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
If you subscribe to Xbox Live Gold, you are also gifted a few free games every month through Microsoft’s Games with Gold program. For the current month of July 2019, Xbox players got INSIDE from Playdead and Big Crown: Showdown from Hyper Luminal Games Ltd.
As we wait for the official August 2019 list to be revealed, we have some predictions as to what free games might be included. From our number crunching and info gathering session, we suspect the larger game has a very decent chance of being Assassin’s Creed Odyssey from Ubisoft.
Microsft is very used to including Ubisoft games on Games with Gold, with past games including:
- Assassin’s Creed II in July 2013.
- Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag in April 2015.
- Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon in November 2016.
- Assassin’s Creed: Revelations in April 2017.
- Assassin’s Creed III in June 2017.
- Watch Dogs in June 2017.
- Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate in April 2018.
- For Honor in August 2018.
- Assassin’s Creed in November 2018.
- Far Cry 2 in January 2019.
- Assassin’s Creed Rogue in February 2019, and more.
Not to mention that Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is actually on sale at the time of writing for Gold members at 40% off until the end of the month at $36.
If we don’t see Assassin’s Creed Odyssey next month, then we suspect it sometime in the very near future. With Microsoft and Ubisoft’s buddy-buddy relationship when it comes to Games with Gold, it would be a bigger surprise to see Odyssey not be included on Games with Gold at this point.
Xbox Games with Gold Predictions for August 2019
The Smaller Game – Gang Beasts
Usually a smaller game makes the list as well, and for next month we suspect the silly, indie title Gang Beasts would be a perfect inclusion.
Gang Beasts has you control this little characters in various wacky areas as you try and use the physics of their wiggly little bodies to knock your friends out of the safe area. It’s a great game to play with friends who aren’t as used to video games, as the controls are very basic but the actual gameplay is silly and full of action at the same time.
It’s common for Microsoft to include party-styled games like this on Games with Gold, such as Overcooked! in October 2018.
Gang Beasts is also on sale only for Xbox Live Gold members at 20% off priced at $16. This sale is set to go on until the end of the month, and usually when a game is set for sale specifically for Gold members it has a better chance at being on Games with Gold in the near future.
