While we’ve known about Minecraft: Dungeons for almost a year now, E3 2019 brought us a closer look at how the game will actually play, some additional details, and most importantly a release window in the not-too-distant future. As such, some players may be wondering if this new take on the blocky phenomenon is coming to the PS4. Well, here’s what you need to know.
Minecraft Dungeons on PS4 – What You Need to Know
Well, the good news is that despite Minecraft: Dungeons coming from Microsoft’s first-party studio, Mojang, it’s still going to be making its way to PS4, among other platforms. Though this was easy to miss during Microsoft’s E3 2019 conference, the gameplay trailer presented during the show has shown up on the official PlayStation YouTube channel, which is more than enough evidence.
Additionally, if you needed any more evidence that Minecraft Dungeons wasn’t a Microsoft exclusive, a blog post over on the official Minecraft website reads:
“Of course, it wouldn’t hurt if said trailer also ended with an announcement of four-player local and online co-op, and revealed that the game will not only come to Windows PC, but also to Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, Nintendo Switch and PS4.” Oh, and as mentioned here, the gameplay reveal trailer at the end featured the PS4 as a newly announced platform among others.

Whether or not the game is cross-play across all the announced platforms remains to be seen, but we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that it’ll follow in the footsteps of the original Minecraft, and then some and let PS4 players join in on the cross-platform play fun, too. For now, though, we’ll just have to wait and see.
