The Entertainment Software Association and the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences revealed the winners of the annual Into The Pixel competition, aiming to showcase the best artwork in gaming. Among the pieces showcased this year, there is artwork from Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Tsushima that we have never seen before.

The art, which you can enjoy at the bottom of the post, comes from the paintbrush of Senior Concept Artist John Powell and is titled Farmstead Mongol. It portrays pretty much what it says on the tin, showcasing a landscape devastated by the Mongol invasion, with wild dogs gathering around the corpse of an unfortunate villager who didn’t run away in time.

It provides a look at the concept art that inspired the world that we’ll explore on our PS4 consoles.

The winners also include art from Remedy Entertainment’s Control, Sony Santa Monica’s God of War, and more charming pieces. You should check them all out at the winners’ gallery.

Ghost of Tsushima was announced in 2017 at Paris Games Week. We know it’s coming for PS4, but we don’t have a precise idea of the release window just yet.

Hopefully, we’ll learn more soon, and you’ll be able to read all about it here on Twinfinite as soon as we do.
