What You Need to Know About Fortbytes in Fortnite Season 9

Epic Games loves to tease its players with little quirks and mysteries in their battle royale game, and these Fortbytes seem to be designed to promote that same air of mystery as well. First off, it’s worth noting that these collectibles are only available to Battle Pass owners, so you’ll need to purchase that before you can participate.

According to the v9.00 patch notes, Fortbytes are a new kind of collectible item exclusive to Season 9. The more you collect, you’ll be able to start revealing a mysterious image that presumably leads you to unlockable rewards and other secrets within the game.

  • Fortbytes are a series of 100 collectible computer chips available to Battle Pass owners. As you collect Fortbytes, you’ll decrypt a mysterious image. Collect them all to unlock rewards and uncover the secrets of Season 9.
  • On the first day of Season 9, there are 18 Fortbytes available to find. At least 1 new Fortbyte will be unlocked each day. Check the Challenges Tab for detailed information on which Fortbytes are currently available and when the others unlock.
  • Fortbytes cannot be collected after Season 9 ends.

As stated in the patch notes, these collectible items are exclusive to Season 9, and will disappear once the Season is over. This means that you only have a limited amount of time to collect as many as you can and reap the rewards.

How to Get Them

Also stated in the patch notes, 18 Fortbytes will be available to find in the game on the first day of Season 9 in Fortnite.

As the Season continues, at least one new collectible will be unlocked in the game, and there are a total of 100 to collect. We don’t have any info on where the current 18 computer chips are in the game at the moment, but we’ll be sure to update this article accordingly as soon as we find them.

That’s all you need to know about Fortbytes in Fortnite Season 9 for now. Be sure to check our Fortnite guide wiki or search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
