Today Sega announced a couple of crossover events for its long-running MMORPG Phantasy Star Online 2.
The first is launching tomorrow, April 22 and will end on May 6. It will feature Sega’s own PS4 online mecha game Border Break, and you can check out the collaboration items below.

The second, and far more exciting for me considering how big of a fan I am of the series, is going to be with âge’s classic visual novel Muv-Luv Alternative.

The crossover event will start in June and will include the peculiar (read: awesome) hairstyle of heroine Meiya Mitsurugi and her costume, weapon camos, and parts portraying Muv-Luv’s signature mechas Type-94 Shiranui and Type-00 Takemikazuchi.
More information will be released at a later time.
If you’re not familiar with Phantasy Star Online 2, it’s an MMORPG initially released in 2012 for PC, with ports for PS Vita, PS4, and Nintendo Switch following across the years. A western release was also announced in 2012, and never officially delivered or canceled, marking one of Sega’s most unpopular broken promises.
If you don’t know what Muv-Luv is all about, it’s arguably one of the best visual novel series of all time. you can find Muv-Luv and Muv-Luv: Alternative on Steam and on PS Vita, and read our interview with creator Kouki Yoshimune.
A brand new release on Steam is also coming soon, named Muv-Luv Photonflowers, and providing a wider look on the franchise’s rich lore.
