In the Ubisoft news post about the new characters, the publisher talks about this partnership in the following statement:

“In honor of the upcoming theatrical release of Hellboy, Ubisoft has partnered with Lionsgate and Millennium Media to bring Hellboy to Brawhalla. Four characters from the upcoming film – Hellboy, Nimue, Gruagach, and Ben Daimio – are set to join the deep and varied roster of Legends in the free-to-play platform fighter this April.”

A specific release date was not provided, but the new film releases on April 12, so the characters will likely be introduced to the game around the same time.

For those unfamiliar with Hellboy, he is a demon who was taken in by the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense as a child and raised to protect humanity. Ben Daimio also works for the Bureau and can transform into a jaguar.

Nimue is a witch and an antagonist from the comics and the upcoming film. Gruagach is a shape-shifting fairy creature who is trapped in a boar-like body and serves Nimue.

Adding characters from Hellboy to Brawlhalla is a fun way to bring even more diversity to the games extensive roster. The game already has over 40 legends for players to master and these four new additions should fit in great.
