Games with Gold Predictions For February 2019

games with gold, predictions

Those who subscribe to online functionality on their Xbox One or Xbox 360 consoles are also gifted a few free games each month through Games with Gold. Usually a few larger titles headline the list, and for our first speculation we wouldn’t be surprised to see Rise of the Tomb Raider make it to players next month in February 2019.

Tomb Raider games have made it to Games with Gold in the past, including Tomb Raider (2013) in March 2015, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition in September 2015, and Tomb Raider Underworld in January 2018.

The title also came to both Xbox One and Xbox 360, so Microsoft has the freedom to choose either platform making it a more obvious pick for Games with Gold no matter what other titles are offered that month. If we had to guess though, it’s more likely it would be offered on Xbox One due to its popularity specifically on the next-gen platform.

Another likely inclusion is Sniper Elite 3 for the Xbox 360, or perhaps the Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition bundle for Xbox One that also comes with the nine DLC packs as well.

Sniper Elite V2 was offered on Games with Gold in February 2015, and tons of other games from this series’ developer 505 Games have been as well including Terraria in April 2015, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons in February 2015, and more.

It seems like a no-brainer that Sniper Elite 3 will be released if not next month then sometime in the near future, just because its gameplay is on par with other past Games with Gold choices and 505 Games has a relationship with Microsoft offering its titles for free in the past as well.

we are the dwarves

A possible indie inclusion for Games with Gold February 2019 is We Are The Dwarves from Ukrainian developer Whale Rock Games.

The game combines fantasy elements with a sci-fi space setting as you control three Dwarven astronauts Smashfist a brutish tank, Shadow an assassinating archer, and Forcer who focuses on ranged attacks. There’s real-time tactical gameplay where you work through the isometric environments and are able to use active pause throughout, so you can plan our your attacks efficiently without sacrificing time.

We Are The Dwarves released in February 2017, so it’s been the usual amount of time since it released for Microsoft to consider it for Games with Gold. As well, the game is currently on sale for only $7.49 and is often on sale for less than $10 so it would be a low risk for Microsoft to consider offering it for free as well.

Other games that have been included on Games with Gold that are similar to We Are The Dwarves are The Banner Saga 2 in July 2017, Defense Grid in July 2013, Defense Grid 2 in May 2016, and Hand of Fate in February 2016 just to name a few.

Make sure to check back in a week or so when Microsoft releases the list of Games with Gold free games for February 2019.
