Xbox One Q1

crackdown 3

2019 is set to be another great year for games, and the Xbox One doesn’t look like it’ll be slouching in the opening few months. Thanks to third-party support in the form of Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts III releasing towards the end of January, and Ubisoft’s Trials Rising, there’s sure to be a bit of something for everyone in the first few months of the year.

The most notable releases, however, have got to be Microsoft Game Studios’ very own Crackdown 3, and Ubisoft’s Far Cry New Dawn. Crackdown 3 has long been on the radar of Xbox One owners, having had release dates set for 2016, all the way through to this final release date in 2019. Players will assume the role of a crime-fighting super agent as they try to take down the sinister corporation known as TerraNova Worldwide. It’s all about big explosions and destruction in Crackdown 3, with otherworldly powers such as being able to leap from the floor up to the top of a skyscraper, sprinting at super speeds, and plenty more.

What’s more, we’ll finally see the power of the cloud in action on the Xbox One, with Crackdown 3’s multiplayer mode providing an entirely new level of physics and scale of destruction. Details remain fairly sparse, but it at least looks like we’ll finally get Crackdown 3 once and for all on Feb. 15.

Ubisoft recently surprised players with the announcement of Far Cry New Dawn less than a year after the release of Far Cry 5. Set in Hope County 17 years after Far Cry 5, New Dawn will show players exactly what’s changed since the bombs dropped and transformed the world into a post-apocalyptic land. The trailer was certainly all about action, and we can’t wait to return to Hope County all over again when it also releases on Feb. 15.

Here’s every Xbox One release confirmed for Q1 of next year:

Xbox One Q2

Currently, there’s not a whole lot confirmed for a Q2 release for the Xbox One, but there are still some top games that are well worth being excited for.

Kicking things off on April 23, NetherRealm Studios is bringing Mortal Kombat 11 to the Xbox One for more high-fidelity, gruesome fighting action. Expect a large roster of characters and the same smooth, satisfying combo-building gameplay fans have come to know and love.

Skipping forward a month then sees the release of Rage 2 from id Software. With a sprawling post-apocalyptic open world to explore at your leisure, a plethora of dangerous creatures waiting to rip your face off, and more weird and wonderful weapons than you can shake a stick at, it looks set to improve upon its 2011 predecessor in just about every way possible.

Finally, we have the clash of the kart racers. Sonic All Stars Racing had gathered a bit of a cult following when it released on Xbox 360, Wii and PS3. Yet, sadly, we never got a fully-fledged sequel, up until now. As you’d expect, it features Sonic and his ensemble cast with their own unique vehicles, an eclectic selection of tracks based on locations from the series, and single-player, online and team modes on offer.

For those who prefer their anthropomorphic animals racing karts in the form of a Bandicoot, well, the time has finally come. After years of fans nostalgically thinking back, Crash Team Racing is getting a full remake. Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled is a faithful remake of the original game, bringing all of the characters, vehicles, and tracks to the current generation with a fresh lick of pain. The game looks absolutely stunning in its trailer, and we simply cannot wait to guide our beloved Polar to the podium all over again.

Below, you can check out all of the Xbox One games confirmed to release in Q2 of 2019:

  • April 23 – Mortal Kombat 11
  • April – Dauntless
  • April – Super Meat Boy Forever
  • April – Bus Simulator
  • May 14 – Rage 2
  • May 21 – Team Sonic Racing
  • June 21 – Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled
  • June – Phoenix Point

All Xbox One Games Confirmed for 2019 Release

Sometime in 2019

Sadly, the Xbox One doesn’t have any games properly confirmed for Q3 or Q4 2019 releases, so we’re instead left with a rather lengthy list of titles set to release sometime within the year. These are games that could still potentially get pushed into 2020, but are currently said to be on track for a 2019 release.

Fans of the battle royale title Fortnite may be excited to see the Save the World PvE mode down for a 2019 release. Though the PvE mode has been available for a while, its official release coming sometime in 2019 will see it go free-to-play to the masses, rather than its current paid early access state. If you were a fan of the Fortnitemares event back in October, expect more of the same zombie-blasting, speed-building goodness there.

Square Enix also announced a number of Final Fantasy titles would make their way to the Xbox One at some point in 2019, allowing longtime fans who just want a hit of nostalgia to play through them all over again, or let newcomers see what all the fuss is about. Final Fantasy VII, IX, X/ X-2 HD Remaster and XII have thus far all been said to be arriving on the Xbox One within the year.

Our top pick, however, has to go to Coalition Studios’ upcoming Gears 5. Following the story of Kait as she uncovers more about her origin as an Outsider of Locust descent. You’ll need to fight your way through waves of Locust, as always, in order to track down Kait’s family and connect all the links together.

As always, Gears 5 will have online multiplayer modes to keep fans hooked long after they’ve watched the credits roll on the campaign. Once again, details are fairly sparse on Gears 5, but as one of Microsoft’s biggest exclusive franchises, we personally can’t wait to see what the next entry has in store.

Here are all of the games that are supposed to release in 2019:

  • A Plague Tale: Innocence
  • Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey
  • Battletoads
  • Beyond Blue
  • Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
  • Children of Morta
  • Code Vein
  • Control
  • Desperados 3
  • Digimon Survive
  • El Hijo: A Wild West Tale
  • Final Fantasy VII

  • Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster
  • Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age
  • Fortnite: Save the World
  • Gears 5
  • Greedfall
  • Indivisible
  • Journey to the Savage Planet
  • Lost Ember
  • The Lego Movie 2 Videogame
  • Lost Words: Beyond the Page
