Your Name stands as one of the biggest anime hits over the recent years, gaining international traction and even an upcoming Hollywood live-action adaptation. It’s been nearly three years since the movie first aired, and now the film director has a new project slated for 2019.
According to Comic Natalie, director Makoto Shinkai has revealed his upcoming movie “Weathering With You,” which will be getting a theatrical release in the coming year. The anime movie revolves around the story of a young boy and girl who choose to forge their own destiny in a world where the weather has been disrupted.
The boy moved to Tokyo from his home on a Japanese island, while the girl has the ability to control the weather by praying. While we still don’t know much about the movie, it seems like Weathering With You will include some supernatural stuff going on like in Your Name.
