The Nintendo Switch certainly appears to have the beginning of Japan’s challenging Holiday shopping battle down, and we’ll have to see if Sony’s counter-strategy is going to work starting next week.
In the meanwhile, Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! keep selling quite well, even if its sales halved once more since its results last week, which already showcased a sharp drop. That being said, the game is coming close to selling a million copies in Japan alone.
Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth didn’t manage to dethrone Pokemon, but it certainly did well for a niche dungeon-crawling JRPG on a veteran platform like the 3DS.
We also got the debut of Lapis Re Abyss by Nippon Ichi, and as usual, it started with rather low sales on PS4, while the Switch version didn’t make the top twenty. Yet, Nippon Ichi never appears to feel the impact of this kind of sales figures, which is certainly a good thing.
