How to Buy a Horse in Red Dead Online
Red Dead Online takes the beautiful, rich, and busy world of Red Dead Redemption 2 into a multiplayer online space. While the experience isn’t 1:1 the same, there are plenty of gameplay features that carry over from single-player, into Red Dead Online. Buying new horses is one of those features that does carry over. Here’s how to do it.
Horses are your number one companion and best buddy in the world of Red Dead Redemption 2. This is no different in Red Dead Online. It’s how you’ll get around for the most part, and there are even times where you’ll need to engage in some mounted combat as well.
You can buy horses from stables. Most stables are located in major towns, but there are others that are scattered around the map as well.
You’ll need to buy additional stable slots too while you’re there as well before you can have multiple horses as once. So make sure you save up some cash. We recommend joining horse races, doing the story missions, or better than both of those two, find and complete treasure map quests.
If that’s not your style, and you want to wrangle one in the old-fashioned way you can do that too, the same way you would do it in the single-player. Check out our guide on how to lasso and break-in horses if you come across one in the wild you want to keep.
However, again, you’ll need to have an open stable slot to keep your new horse permanently.
