How to Get Gold Nuggets & Gold Bars in Red Dead Online

Recommended Videos

Red Dead Online is finally here and like GTA Online before it, you’ll be able to team up with your favorite cowboys, cowgirls, and partners to complete missions together and ultimately, get some gold nuggets. Here’s how to get gold nuggets in Red Dead Online.

Let’s take a second to explain how currencies, and microtransactions will work in Red Dead Online when it is fully released at some point in the near future.

Gold nuggets are one of the main rewards for completing various quests and missions in Red Dead Online. Anything ranging from story missions, competitive multiplayer matches, horse races, and treasure maps will reward you with some.

They are obtained quite slowly, however. At least as of the beta, you only get 1 gold nugget as a reward for completing most activities.

The goal is to convert them to equal the buying power of one gold bar. 100 gold nuggets equal one gold bar. So yeah, as of the beta, it takes a while to get a gold bar. However, that might change before Red Dead Online’s full, official release.

Eventually, when the microtransaction store is open for business, you’ll be able to purchase gold bars to save time and get quick access to whatever you need the currency for. You’ll be able to purchase it from the Store option in the main menu. The prices for gold bars are still unknown at the moment.

Gold bars are basically a shortcut for buying things that you don’t have enough regular cash for. In that way, it’s not exactly like the shark cash cards from GTA online, but it’s the same general principle.

That’s all we know so far about gold nuggets and gold bars in Red Dead Online. When we learn more, we’ll be sure to update this article. In the meantime, don’t go too crazy getting gold nuggets, because your progress might not even carry over. It is a beta after all.
