Pokemon Let’s Go: How to Get Bulbasaur

How to Get Bulbasaur in Pokemon Let’s Go

The Pokemon series is making its debut on the Nintendo Switch console with the release of Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee. As a remake of the original Game Boy titles, longtime fans will be able to revisit a new version of Kanto that was rebuilt from the ground up. Since Bulbasaur isn’t one of the starting Pokemon available in this game, you might be wondering if you’ll be able to get it. Here’s what you need to know about how to get Bulbasaur in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee.

The good news is, you don’t have to wait too long at all to get your hands on a Bulbasaur in the game. Your first chance to get one will be in Cerulean City, which is an area you’ll be visiting fairly early on in Pokemon Let’s Go. Just follow the story path, beat Brock in Pewter Town, make your way through the Mt. Moon cave and you’ll be there in no time.

Once in Cerulean City, go check out the house directly to the left of the Poke Center. Here, you’ll see a woman standing next to a Bulbasaur. If you talk to her, she’ll let you know that she’s been taking care of Bulbasaur for a while now, and now that he’s okay, she wants to give him to a capable trainer she can trust.

Depending on how many Pokemon you’ve captured in the game so far, she might give the Pokemon to you. In our playthrough, we had captured a total of 47 Pokemon at that point, and we were able to get Bulbasaur immediately. It doesn’t seem like Pokemon species really matters here —just the number of creatures you’ve caught so far.

The Bulbasaur you get from this lady will start at level 12, which should be decent enough for the encounters in that area.

Alternatively, you could also transfer a captured Bulbasaur from Pokemon GO to your game. However, this method requires you to reach the GO Park in Fuchsia City first. Or, if neither of those methods appeal to you, it’s also possible to find a Bulbasaur in Viridian Forest near the start of the game, though it seems to be a pretty rare encounter. We’d advise going for the Cerulean City method if you don’t want to waste too much time searching.

That’s all you need to know about how to get Bulbasaur in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee.
