How to Get Perk Card Packs in Fallout 76 & What You Get
It seems as though every game these days is including cards, and Fallout 76 is no different. Perk Cards now replace the typical perk system from the mainline Fallout games, which are obtained via perk card packs. Here’s how to get perk card packs & what you get.
In brief, let’s quickly summarize how the perk system works in Fallout 76, since it’s new ground even for returning Fallout players.
As you’d expect, Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, and Luck stats (S.P.E.C.I.A.L.) do make a return. With each new level earned, players will pour a point into one of those stats and then have the option to pick a perk card.
There are literally hundreds of various perks, each offering special buffs. S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats are only applicable up to level 50, but you can still pick new perk cards to build your character.
Crucially, perk cards each have a point value, and can only be equipped to a stat of the same number. If your intelligence is at 5, for example, you can equip give one-point perk cards to that stat. You’ll be able to upgrade your perks, too, but this will increase their point value.

How to Get Perk Card Packs, What You Get, Can You Buy Them As Microtransactions
Perk card packs are rewarded every two levels up to level 10 and once you’ve hit level 4 (so level 4, 6, 8, and 10). The idea here is to encourage you to experiment a bit before you settle on a direction of progression for your character.
Once you’ve gone beyond level 10, they’ll be rewarded for every five levels you rank up (level 15,20, 25,30, 35 so on). Within each pack you’ll be given perks that are beyond your current level, allowing you to better plan your build.
You’ll be pleased to know that players are not able to be purchased perk card packs as microtransactions, so there’s no fear of any pay-to-win advantages being had.
In terms of what is actually inside, each one contains 4 perk cards. You’ll also find some chewing gum, which can be consumed by your character. There are different flavors of gum, with each granting different perks.
Oh, and there’s also an amusing little joke inside the pack to put a smile on your face –how nice!
