How to Cross-Play on Fortnite on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch
Cross-play has now been enabled in Fortnite Battle Royale on PS4. For months, Sony were against the idea and refused to allow players to use their Fortnite account on systems away from their own. The frustrations came to a head when the Switch version released. Now, however, Sony has revealed that a beta is beginning for cross-play on Fortnite across PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch. You’ll probably be wanting to know how to do so. Well, here is everything there is to know about how to cross-play on Fortnite on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch.
To cross-play on Fortnite on PS4, you first need to ensure that you have an active Epic account. Then, load up Fortnite Battle Royale and head to the mode’s main menu. Once there, press Options and then choose the ‘Epic Friends’ option from the menu that appears.
Here, you’ll see your name and a few icons with a + in. When you select one of these icons, the list of your Epic friends will appear and you’ll be able to invite them so that you can cross-play on Fortnite on PS4, with them on another system.
It’ll be their Epic names, rather than their console usernames, so look closely at who you’re inviting. You might need to add their username in, if you’re not already friends, but that’s simple. Once you do so, your friend will have to accept on their end. Once that’s all done, you will be able to cross-play on Fortnite on PS4.
