Looking how to remove shields off in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey? Here’s how you do it.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is the furthest back Ubisoft has ever taken us in this historical fiction series. Instead of dealing with Assassins and Templars, players are caught in a heated conflict between Greece and Sparta. Odyssey also marks the first time players will be able to choose the gender of their character, as Alexios and Kassandra are made available at the start of the game. Many enemies in the game are equipped with shields, which makes them rather tough to deal with. As such, here’s what you need to know about how to remove shields off in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

While you could just keep hacking away at an enemy’s shield in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, there’s a more efficient way to do things. You can purchase a skill called Shield Breaker from the ability tree, and use that to get around smaller shields. This ability only costs one point, and it’s found in the second tier of the Warrior skill tree. Once you’ve leveled up enough, the skill will be made available, and you can also purchase it with only one ability point. After purchasing, assign it to one of the face buttons on the controller.

While in combat, hold down L1 and press the assigned button to execute the sick move. This allows your character to get through these tough enemies, and stun your opponent for a few seconds. It’s one of the best abilities you can get.

However, it’s worth noting that the ability we’re talking about here won’t automatically work on tougher enemies with bigger means of protection. Those baddies will need to be dodged, and you’ll have to find an opening to attack. That is, until you are of the same level as them or higher. Then you can take away their shields just the same way.

And that’s pretty much all you need to know about how to remove shields off in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
