Destiny 2 Forsaken: How to Beat Aphelion’s Rest Ascendant Challenge (Week 1)

How to Beat the Aphelion’s Rest Ascendant Challenge in Destiny 2 Forsaken

Recommended Videos

One of the main things that was added to Destiny 2 by its new expansion, Forsaken, was The Dreaming City, which is a new endgame area that features a whole host of new secrets to be found. You’ll also be faced with challenges that are associated with some of the secrets in The Dreaming City, one of which is the Aphelion’s Rest Ascendant Challenge (Week 1). Here’s everything you need to know about the challenge.

If you’re under the effect of Queensfoil (see this guide for more on what Queensfoil is in Destiny 2 and how to get it) when you’re in the Lost Sector, Aphelion’s Rest near Petra, you’ll come across a portal that’s roughly half way through the sector.

For the Aphelion’s Rest Ascendant challenge that’s tied to this area in Destiny 2, you will first need to destroy all of the Blights that are in the surrounding area. There should be four, once you’ve destroyed all four, you’ll receive a system message about an opportunity. Then, head back over to the center of the area and destroy the crystals that should now be vulnerable. Destroying all of them will see you complete the challenge, and you do not need to defeat the nearby enemies to do so. In fact, we recommend avoiding them altogether if you can, especially the large Knights, because that’ll make completing the Aphelion’s Rest Ascendant Challenge significantly easier. Just keep moving and jumping until you’ve taken out all of the crystals and the challenge is over.

That’s all you need to know about the Aphelion’s Rest Ascendant Challenge in Destiny 2 Forsaken. For more tips and tricks on the base game and the new expansion, be sure to check out our extensive wiki guide.
