How to Craft & Use Perception Plants in Shadow of the Tomb Raider

In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, you’ll find that gameplay has certainly been shifted more towards stealth action rather than all-out combat. Lara Croft not only looks like a total badass when she’s in full Rambo, mud-covered, stealth mode, she’s also got some awesome tricks up her sleeve to pounce on unsuspecting enemies silently. Of course, you’ve got your conventional hiding in tall grass, throwing bottles to distract enemies, and stealth takedowns while perched from above, but there’s also a neat trick to enhance Lara’s perception. The aptly named Perception Plants allow Lara to see enemies through walls, and they work well both in stealth and gunfights. You’ll certainly want to make use of them, so here’s how to craft and use Perception Plants in Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

All you need to craft and take a Perception Plant is hold L1 (or the left bumper on Xbox One) and then Triangle (or Y on Xbox One). As is the case with the recovering your health, Lara crafts and takes them in one action, so there’s about half a second required to actually take one. As in, you don’t craft several and then have her take them instantly. For that reason, make sure you’re well clear of enemies before you action taking one, otherwise, you’ll find yourself vulnerable to attack.

We find Perception Plants super useful when moving quietly through areas, given that it highlights enemy positions. It’s also excellent when you’re engaged in combat with something like a Jaguar, which moves quickly from different directions.

That’s all you need to know about how to craft and use Perception Plants in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. For more useful information, tips, and guides on the game be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki page.
