If you’re looking to pull off one seriously cool-looking maneuver in NBA 2K19, the alley oop is likely right up there. It’s stylish, sleek, and requires some coordination from your players, too. Plus, you can net yourself two points and an assist for the player who set it up, so what’s not to like? Here’s what you need to know to alley oop in NBA 2K19.

In order to alley oop in NBA 2K19, you’ll just need to remember a simple button input regardless of whether or not you’ve got the ball. Essentially, it’s the same as it’s always been in previous entries in the series, too. All you’ll need to do is double tap Triangle on PS4, Y on Xbox One, or X on Nintendo Switch.

If you’ve got the ball and do this, you’ll set up another player on your team for a layup or a dunk. We like to do this when you’ve caught your opponent on the break and outnumber their defense, ideally in a 2-on-1 scenario. Their one defender can’t close you down and mark the player you’re about to set up with the alley oop, so you’re almost guaranteed to get yourself two point. Just make sure your teammate is actually driving towards the basket, otherwise, they won’t receive the alley oop.

To alley oop when you don’t have the ball in NBA 2K19, you’ll want to once again double tap the same button, but ensure that you’re holding the left analog stick towards the basket. As long as you’re driving towards the hoop as you double tap the button, with a bit of luck, you’ll score a two-pointer with style.

And finally, if you’re wanting to really rub salt in the wound and showboat, you can self-alley oop in NBA 2K19. When you’ve got the ball, double tap the same button we mentioned above and hold the left analog stick towards the basket. You’ll need to have enough space between your player and the basket for them to perform the stylish move.

That’s all you need to know to alley oop in numerous different ways in NBA 2K19. For more tips, tricks, and information on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
