As RPGs get more and more complex and ambitious, the games’ maps get larger and larger. To get across them, or from location to location, it can take a long time. To speed up the progress, most open world RPGs feature fast-travel systems that allow you to jump between places in seconds, and Dragon Quest XI is no different. Here’s everything you need to know about how to fast travel in the game.

You aren’t able to fast travel from right at the start of Dragon Quest XI. Instead, early on in the game, at around level 10, your main character will be granted the ability to cast a spell called Zoom. Zoom costs zero MP to cast, but it allows you to fast travel in the game.

All you need to do is open up the main menu by pressing Triangle, select magic and then your character, and then Zoom will let you instantly travel back to any city or campfire in the game’s world that you’ve previously visited. Once you’ve used Zoom and chosen where you want to go, you’ll fast travel to that location.

That’s all you need to know about how to fast travel in Dragon Quest XI. For more on the game, be sure to check out our extensive wiki guide.
