The Monster Hunter series has seen phenomenal success in 2018, with Monster Hunter World now hitting the 10 million sales mark with its release on PC. Despite that, the next entry in the series is already on its way with Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate releasing on Nintendo Switch, an updated and enhanced port of the original game on 3DS. For the most part, it’s the same game, updated with HD graphics and new controls to fit on the Switch. Needless to say, Monster Hunter is more popular than ever right now, and naturally many fans will be wondering if Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate will be coming to other systems, like the Xbox One.

Unfortunately, there are currently no plans for Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate on Xbox One, or anything besides the Nintendo Switch honestly. Monster Hunter Generations originally released on the Nintendo 3DS in 2016, and like the past few games before it, it was exclusive to Nintendo systems. Capcom has been vocal about Monster Hunter World just not being possible on Switch, so this seems like more of a move to put the series on the increasingly popular handheld hybrid. If you do happen to own a Switch, however, there’s a demo for Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate immediately available.

At the moment, Capcom’s focus for PS4 and Xbox One is continuing to bring new content and updates to Monster Hunter World. The game has seen numerous new pieces of content since its launch, like the crossover event with Final Fantasy XIV that brought the monstrous Behemoth to the game.
