How to Catch in Madden 19
With the evolving, more intricate gameplay of each Madden iteration comes brand new mechanics to get the edge on your opponents. Madden 19 is no different. So let’s look into how to catch in Madden 19.
It can feel immensely frustrating to have the perfect throw mapped out, and then your star receiver drops the biggest pass of the game. Luckily, Madden 19 boasts two unique ways to make sure your passes connect with your players, and increase their chances of coming away with a big catch in crucial, important situations.
While playing at the quarterback, after letting go of the ball towards your designated receiver, of course they will attempt to catch the ball. During special circumstances such as sideline catches, quick slants and jump balls, a button prompt will appear that will allow you to perform a special catch that has certain risks and rewards. For example, a possession catch may ensure that you nab the ball much easier, but it will reduce the chance that you will be able to run out for more yards after the catch. Meanwhile, choosing to run after catch may cause the receiver to drop the ball, or create an opening for an interception, but it could also secure a large amount of yards if it works how the way that you want.
While playing as a receiver, however, the process is a little bit different. When the ball is coming towards you, press triangle or Y just before the ball lands in your hands to make sure that you make the user catch.
