GTA V is a game full of so much to do that it’s no wonder over 65 million people have picked it up. For many, the fun of GTA V comes from the cars. Even more specifically, using some of the game’s best cars to race NPCs in Los Santos or other players from around the world. There are a number of ways to get a leg up on the competition in a street race. One of the best ways is by double-clutching. You might be wondering how to do this, though. Fear not, we’ve got you covered. Here’s how to double clutch in GTA V on PS4.

The first thing you’re going to want to do in order to double clutch in GTA V is find a fast car. Why? The answer is simple: when you double clutch in a car, it shoots flames out of the back of your car and you want to find a car that would look especially great —usually the fast ones — with flames shooting out of its exhaust (and, it’s significantly easier to do this with a car that accelerates fast). Once you’ve obtained that, find a clear stretch of road in GTA V to minimize the risk of any horrendous crashes.

Next, hold the brakes down and begin revving your engine. Rev the engine by holding down L2 and R2 until the RPM meter shows the hand between seven and eight. Once the hand is sitting in between seven and eight, release the brakes and you should feel the car launch forward. Once your car goes to switch from second to third gear in GTA, you should notice that your engine is revving high. When it does that, tap the handbrake (square) and then tap the gas (R2 again). If you do all of this correctly, you should feel the car launch forward once more, almost as if it just used a quick burst of turbo. That’s what you call a double clutch in GTA V!

Just to be sure you’re doing it correctly, switch to third-person mode so you can see the back of your car. When you tap the gas after tapping the handbrake, you should see the car not only launch forward, but shoot a small burst of flames out of the exhaust as well. This is a sign you’ve got the double clutch nailed down in GTA V. So congratulations!

That’s all you need to know to double clutch in GTA V on PS4.
