Boasting tight controls, an updated roster and the usual multiplayer play and ranking features, EA’s Madden 19 is sure to satisfy most any fan of the series looking to take their play into the next year as well as though who have been eager for a noted improvement over the last iteration. Not only that, but Madden 19 marks the first time the series has come to PC since Madden NFL 08 back in 2007, expanding the number of players who can interact and engage with both the game and its community.

As such, it’s understandable that owners of the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo’s current console and one of the best selling pieces of hardware right now, would be hopeful that a version Madden 19 would make its way to their console of choice, especially after the series skipped a release on the console for Madden 18. Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to be the year: In an interview with Gamespot back in June, producer Ben Haumiller told the publication there were no plans to bring Madden 19 to the Nintendo Switch.

“We always think about every platform out there,” he said. “It’s really a decision of what’s best for Madden and us as EA and where we’re going.”

While this doesn’t mean there won’t ever be another Madden release on Switch – FIFA 18 saw a release on the Switch, and the next entry in the series is set to release later this year – it does leave fans to stick to the other consoles from this generation for some virtual football action.

Madden 19 is set to release on Aug. 10 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to check out our comprehensive wiki.
