Where to Find Rifts & What They Do in Fortnite Battle Royale

Recommended Videos

World’s Collide is the official title for Season 5 of Fortnite Battle Royale, and as we began to get a glimpse of at the end of Season 4, it seems to involve a lot of rifts in space and time, and items being transported from other worlds. That’ll explain the wild west stuff we saw appearing, as well as that giant anchor! However, the Rifts haven’t just upped and left after bringing a few items into the Fortnite world. Instead, they’ve remained in the game with the patch notes for Season 5 simply stating “Test your courage and step through a Rift. You’re in for a wild ride.” Well, here’s where you can find Rifts in Fortnite, and what exactly it is that happens and what they do in the game.

First off, unfortunately, there’s no easy way to find Rifts in Fortnite. Just like the awesome loot-giving llamas, Rifts will appear at random different locations across Fortnite’s map. However, we do know what they look like thanks to the patch notes, so we’ve included an image below to give you a hand spotting them while you’re running to the safety of the circle. They are fairly common, however, so you should find one soon enough.

If we begin to notice that Rifts begin spawning in the same kind of places each match, we’ll be sure to update this post and let you know where we’re seeing them pop up on Fortnite’s Season 5 map.

As for what they actually do in Fortnite Battle Royale. Well, it turns out that they very much act the same as what we saw during the Rocket Launch event a few weeks back. Stepping through a Rift will see your character teleport back up to the giant tear in the sky. You’ll then be able to skydive back down over the location you were in. Consider them a nice little getaway option if you’re in the middle of an intense battle.
