Fortnite Playground Mode (Practice): What it Is, Release Date & More

Everything You Need to Know About Fortnite’s Playground Mode

Recommended Videos

Fortnite may have released as a PvE experience back in June last year, but it continues to grow, evolve, and change with each and every week that passes by. One of the latest announcements Epic Games has made regarding the future of Fortnite is a Playground Mode. If you’ve been unsure of what Fortnite’s Playground Mode is, or you just want to know everything there is to currently know about it, you’re in the right place.

First off, let’s run you through exactly what Playground Mode is. This is essentially going to be a practice arena. You’ll be dropped onto the usual, Battle Royale map, but settings have been changed to form a sort of Creative Mode. You’ll have an extended period of time to explore the map, you’ll snag more resources with your pickaxe, all chests and ammo crates will spawn, friendly fire is on, and you’ll respawn immediately. Oh, and Epic Games also mentioned that there’s going to be a ton of those material-filled Llamas in Playground Mode, so you won’t have to spend ages using your pickaxe.

What we currently don’t know, however, is the specifics of this Playground Mode in Fortnite. Will we be playing with other Fortnite players searching for a Playground session, or will these essentially be Private sessions for you and your friends to strategize and plan in? When this is cleared up, we’ll be sure to update this post and let you know.

As for a release date for Playground Mode in Fortnite Battle Royale, we’re currently still waiting for Epic Games to be ready to announce this. With a bit of luck, we’ll see it in the coming weeks (hopefully before the end of Season 5), but as soon as we have a confirmed release date, we’ll once again update this post and let you know.

That’s pretty much all the information we have regarding Playground Mode in Fortnite Battle Royale right now. For more on the game, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki.
