Microsoft has just unveiled a new product called the Xbox Adaptive Controller, and as you might have gathered from the name itself, it’s a device built specifically with players with disabilities in mind. You can check out the introductory view down below, which details the features and various functions of the controller and how it works.
The idea here is to create a controller for people with disabilities so that they can enjoy any game on their console without running into physical problems with trying to navigate their way around a regular gamepad. That’s where the Xbox Adaptive Controller comes in. The pad itself can be hooked up to various external switches and mounts, allowing it to be customized so that it can cater to different groups of people experiencing different types of difficulties. You can read more about the story behind the controller’s design here.
The Adaptive Controller isn’t available for sale just yet, but the official Microsoft store page is already up, and you can keep track of it here.
