State of Decay 2: How to Save Your Game

How to Save in State of Decay 2

Recommended Videos

The world of State of Decay 2 is a pretty dangerous place to just roam around in aimlessly. The zombies have literally taken over the land and it’s down to you to clear them out and develop a thriving community of survivors. Of course, Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither will your safe haven in State of Decay 2, so here’s what you need to know to save.

There’s no way you can manually save the game from the main menu. Instead, the game has a fairly reliable auto-save system, but it does have a slight limitation worth keeping in mind. If you’re midway through a mission, your progress within the mission won’t be saved, so you’ll have to start over when you load State of Decay 2 back up.

If you’d like to force an auto-save, we found that completing a mission or switching to another survivor normally triggered the animation to appear. You’re looking for “Saving…” in the top-right hand corner of the screen. Once that’s disappeared, you’re all good to take a break from caving in zombie heads for the day.

That’s all you need to know to save in State of Decay 2. For more on the game, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki.
