Is There Local Co-Op Multiplayer in State of Decay 2?

Recommended Videos

State of Decay 2 is all about surviving the zombie apocalypse. You won’t be able to do that alone, though, and will be recruiting survivors to join your cause. With all the people surrounding you within the game, it feels like you should perfectly be able to play co-op with friends, right?

Well, within the game, you can! Except just online, unfortunately. In State of Decay 2, there’s no local co-op multiplayer splitscreen option. I know, I know. I’m disappointed, too. I, too, am terrified of the night and wish a friend that was sitting right next to me on the couch could be in the creepy world of State of Decay 2 with me. Unfortunately, they’ll just be watching. Unless they also have a copy of State of Decay 2 and head home to play co-op with you online!

For that, you simply need to make sure your game is open to friends joining, and then you can send an invite whenever you want. You also have the option of heading into a stranger’s game using the Radio commands (up on the D-Pad) and shooting some flares, but who likes that, am I right?

That’s all there is to it! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. But hey, if you need any more help with the game, leave us a comment down below. For more on State of Decay 2, be sure to check out our wiki.
