Where the Gourmet Shroomcaps Are in the Ancient Forest in Monster Hunter World

Recommended Videos

Monster Hunter World will have you battling all manner of monstrous creatures, but sometimes, you’ll be able to embark on side quests that slow down the pace and send you scouring for different ingredients found in its many open worlds. Early on in Monster Hunter World, you’ll be able to take on a quest for your furry friend at the canteen. He’ll task you with finding 20 Gourmet Shroomcaps from the Ancient Forest.

To find the Gourmet Shroomcaps in Monster Hunter World’s Ancient Forest, when you first spawn in, follow the path west, but take the narrow path north before reaching the large open area. Head up this path and jump down until you see a stream of ant-like creatures crawling across. They’ll be heading to a tree, and at the foot of it is a Mushroom Patch. You’ll normally get about three to four Gourmet Shroomcaps by constantly harvesting it. After this, you’ll need to wait for it to respawn. You can check the progress of this by checking on your map and looking for the ‘?’ logo in this location. Over time, this will refill to a bright pink color, and once it’s filled, you can go back and grab some more Gourmet Shroomcaps from it.

The other location we’ve spotted for Gourmet Shroomcaps in Monster Hunter World’s Ancient Forest is further north from here in the northwest corner of the map. You should see another pink ‘?’ icon on your map, so just head here and look for another mushroom at the foot of the tree. Again, you’ll get about three to four from looting it. Once you’ve finished here, go for a run about, grab some more materials, and wait for these two Gourmet Shroomcaps spawns to reset. After about three runs you’ll have all 20 to complete your Monster Hunter World side quest for your furry friend.
