Monster Hunter World: Is There Splitscreen Co-op?

Is There Splitscreen Co-op in Monster Hunter World?

Recommended Videos

Monster Hunter World gives you the chance to scour the world for huge beasts and attempt to take them down. Thankfully, if those monsters are proving tough opponents, you can join forces with other hunters online to make the task a little more manageable. However, some people may be wondering if you can play with others in splitscreen co-op, rather than online.

Unfortunately, Monster Hunter World does not feature any splitscreen multiplayer options. The developer, Capcom, said in an interview with Game Informer that they will not be adding it any time in the future. They answer 60 quick questions in the interview, with the split-screen co-op question coming up around 10 minutes in.

Instead, you will have to stick to the online options for your multiplayer needs. Helpfully, the online co-op functionality grants a lot of freedom to the player. You can begin quests as a solo hunter and get help mid-way through if you’re struggling, or players can drop out if you don’t need them or they need to leave, without it affecting your progress.

That’s all you need to know about splitscreen co-op in Monster Hunter World. For more on the game, be sure to check out our wiki.
