Developer Insomniac Games continues to grow and has recently enlisted a top talent to help with its upcoming PS4-exclusive Marvel’s Spider-Man.
Brian Horton officially announced on Twitter that he will start working on Spider-Man PS4 starting Jan. 1, 2018. Insomniac Games poked fun at his announcement, saying Horton will be the only person working in the office on that day, considering it’s a holiday.
Horton will be working as a design director for Spider-Man PS4, which sounds promising due to his experience. Horton mostly has art projects in his belt, working as an art director for Disney Interactive Studios and senior art director for Vivendi Universal Games. In addition, he has manned the role of lead artist for The Collective, DreamWorks Interactive, EA, and Disney Interactive. The most notable and most recent projects he has worked on includes helming the creative director role for Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare single-player campaign and game director for Crystal Dynamic’s Rise of the Tomb Raider.
Spider-Man PS4 is an ambitious open-world action game being developed by Insomniac Games, with the team touting to have a map size that’s several times bigger than Sunset Overdrive. The team also said players will get to experience the life of Peter Parker with and without the wall-crawler’s suit. The title also features notable protagonists in the Spidey universe such as Miles Morales and Mary Jane, with the latter said to be playable during a few missions.
Spider-Man PS4 is scheduled to launch sometime in 2018.
