Wait and Pass Time in Skyrim on PC and Console

Recommended Videos

Waiting and passing time is a pretty basic but important function you’ll need to be aware of when playing Skyrim. By passing time, you can quickly skip ahead to daylight, when most shops will be open and NPCs will be wandering around. Certain quest lines also require you to pass time by sleeping in a bed before you can progress, so it’s definitely wise to keep this function in mind.

Firstly, you can pass time whenever you go to sleep. Simply select a bed or bedroll that isn’t owned, and choose to sleep in it. This will bring up a small window that allows you to choose the number of hours you want to pass.

If you don’t have a bed handy nearby, you can choose to wait instead. If you’re on PC, press the T button to bring up the time window. On Xbox One or Xbox 360, press the Back button. On PS3, press the Select button. On PS4, press the touch pad. And lastly, if you’re on Switch, press the – button on the left Joy-Con.

And that’s pretty much all you need to know about waiting and passing time in Skyrim. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more information on the game.
