Bungie has revealed today the release date to its upcoming expansion for Destiny 2, titled Curse of Osiris, during Sony’s Paris Games Week media showcase. A new trailer accompanied the announcement.
The DLC will focus on the exiled Warlock Osiris, presumably seeing Guardians return to Mercury, as that’s the location that the Warlock is known to have harbored hideouts in. Thanks to a premature listing on the Microsoft Store, it was revealed early last month that the DLC will add a whole new patrol location on the planet in a region called the Infinite Forest. The Lighthouse will also return as a fully-fledged social space.
The aforementioned Infinite Forest is an entirely new region, so fans can only surmise what exactly the topography of the area will be through today’s trailer. Speaking of the video, it can be found below:
According to the the official Destiny grimoire, Mercury was once a garden world. Presumably, like all the inner planets, the Traveler’s powers enabled humanity to inhabit it during the Golden Age. During the Collapse, the Vex undid this work within days, transforming it into one of their machine worlds. Mercury is most assuredly now the most Vex-infested planet in the system, meaning players will have no shortage of fun come this December.
