How to Execute Enemies in Middle-earth: Shadow of War
The combat is one of the stronger aspects of Middle-earth: Shadow of War, and it’s made even better by the ability to perform an execution on your foes when the opportunity presents itself. To execute an enemy, all you have to do is hit them repeatedly with the attack buttons (Square and Triangle on PS4, X and Y on Xbox One), until they’re knocked down. Their status will be indicated by the small white markers above their head when they fall.
When you see these markers, you’ll need to walk over to them and press the R2 and Square buttons simultaneously (RT and X on Xbox One) to perform a ground execution. This will allow Talion to execute his foes in a rather stylish manner. However, do note that the execution animation does take a bit of time, and you can be hit in the middle of it if there are other enemies around.
You can also execute enemies from the air by pressing the Square button when you’re right above them. This will kill your enemy instantly.
