How to Find Metroids in Metroid: Samus Returns
Metroid: Samus Returns is a full blown remake of the second game in the series, Metroid II: Return of Samus. Just like the original the main objective of the game is hunting down and killing various versions of Metroids found throughout the world of SR388. Later areas in the game have you collecting more and more Metroids, and they can be tricky to track down, hidden in secret areas or behind puzzles. Luckily the game gives some hint at where you need to go, if you know how to do it of course.
When you reach a new area in Metroid: Samus Returns you’ll hit a Chozo relic that shows how much Metroid DNA you need to collect. You’ll have to at least track down the very first Metroid entirely on your own by exploring. After that, however, you can return to the Chozo relic to plug in the DNA you found. Once you do, the game will show you the relative location of the next Metroid on your map. This means that if you find yourself stuck in Samus Returns and unable to find the next Metroid to take down, you can head back to relic and get a hint on an area you might not have discovered or something you may have missed.
