Play Skyrim: Special Edition for Free on Xbox One or PC This Weekend

Playing for free is a Fus-Ro-DUH moment.

Everyone’s played Skyrim by now, except for a select few people. If you happen to be one of those people, you might want to clear your schedule for the weekend. You’re going to be able to play the game for free via Steam or Xbox One all weekend. All you need is an Xbox Live Gold membership to get in on the fun, as well as the desire to see all there is to see in Skyrim. That’s a lot, mind you.

You can play ’til your heart’s content, and if you decide you like what you see, you can then purchase the game for 50% off via Steam and for a percentage off on Xbox One as well. Plus, any progress you make will be carried over to the game if you end up plunking your cold, hard digital cash down for the game.

The download is a pretty massive one, clocking in at 12 GB on PC and about 16 GB on Xbox One, so unless you have blazing fast internet speeds or don’t mind waiting, you might want to go ahead and grab the game and start it downloading while everyone’s preoccupied with Destiny 2 for the moment. There’s plenty to carve out in the world of Skyrim, and if you’re not careful you might just find yourself lost in its seemingly endless hills and valleys. You were Dragonborn, you know.
