Cosmetic Enhancements

Though Final Fantasy XV came with a small array of skins to choose from, what was offered to players left much to be desired. Indeed, most were pretty bland and unexciting, which is surprising considering how impressive the game’s overworld was.

Allowing the modding community the ability to create its own skins and clothing for the game’s characters opens the flood gates up to thousands of designs to choose from. The same goes with the game’s monsters and the Regalia.

Swimming

One limitation that was a bit of a disappointment that fans discovered when they first starting playing Final Fantasy XV was that the characters couldn’t swim across sea, instead relegated mostly to land and incapable of rolling over the game’s ocean blue whenever they wanted. Director Tabata cites that the reason behind why Square went through with this is to avoid more debugging, thus prolonging the game’s release further.

Despite this, modders can easily allow the characters themselves to tread on water – especially in Altissia – transforming the game’s mechanics a little more to be in the likes of Grand Theft Auto. Who wouldn’t want that?

Returning Final Fantasy Characters

Imagine this: Cloud, Barret, Tifa and Yuffie sitting alongside each other in the Regalia while driving off into the sunset. Swap those characters out for Lightning, Snow, Fang and Vanille or go with another Final Fantasy game’s cast entirely. Surely, it’d make for quite the joyride to behold.

Aside from this, the modding community can resurrect heroes from classic Final Fantasy entries and set them within Final Fantasy XV’s graphically astounding world. introducing newcomers to the franchise to the huge assortment of characters they’ve been missing out on all these years.

Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV Prequel

Kingsglaive Final Fantasy XV

A big gripe that many people have with Final Fantasy XV is its story, as a lot of times it feels disjointed and a little nonsensical. Though having an expanded universe is epic and encourages fans to dip their toes into other forms of media, it cuts out parts from the main narrative.

Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV serves as the prequel to the game and answers a lot of questions that fans may have once they begin their journey with Noctis and company. Having some kind of channel to explain and summarize the events of Kingsglaive would help make Final Fantasy XV feel more grounded. Additionally, having some of the characters from the feature movie appear in the game would be a neat way to tie the two entries together.

Expanded Bestiary

Admittedly, Final Fantasy XV’s monsters are quite impressive in their own right. This being said, having even more creatures in the game certainly can’t hurt it. There’s huge potential for there being an awesome Monster Hunter-esque metagame existing here. Of course, modders will undoubtedly find a way to include Pokémon in on all the action too.

Unlimited God Mode

Final Fantasy XV

Although Final Fantasy XV’s God Mode can be activated without restriction through a glitch involving save files in the game, having the feature on without any loopholes to jump through would give players limitless means of wreaking havoc across Eos.

Aside from this, modders may also be able to find a way to allow all party character unlimited health and full stats from the get-go, harkening back to the notorious Final Fantasy VII cheat. This mod seems to be something that members of the community tick off from their agendas pretty early, so it’s a safe bet that they’ll make it to the PC version of the game in some form.

All Female Cast

Final Fantasy XV

Early on, one of the biggest complaints fans had with Final Fantasy XV was that it starred a predominantly male cast – the first Final Fantasy entry in the series to be male-only. Though (spoilers) Gladiolus’ sister Iris and Aranea Highwind serve as guest characters, modders could replace the game’s male cast with the title’s female characters. With a mod, Final Fantasy XV’s main cast could easily consist of Luna, Cindy, Iris and Aranea instead.

If anything, the aforementioned Iris and Aranea could stay in the game’s main party permanently. They do, after all, have their own fighting assets programmed in the game.

Story Continuation

Fans are already being treated to small sequel DLC stories surrounding Ignis, Prompto and Gladiolus, and Noctis’ story is nicely tied up within Final Fantasy XV’s main narrative. This being said, there’s plenty of opportunity for fans to dive deeper into what may happen after each hero’s scenario concludes. A look into what some side characters have been up to would be interesting as well.

Though this would probably involve some kind of technical feat in order to be pulled off successfully, a small tale of the boys getting back together to have a couple of beers after some years apart would be a creative and sentimental additional payoff to the epic journey that was Final Fantasy XV. The game won’t be getting a direct sequel, after all.

Final Fantasy XV Boy Band

This entry is in here purely for the laughs. Though it’s a bit of a meme already, having Final Fantasy XV’s crew journey from town to town in order to serenade a crowd of pulsating fans could make the joke a hilarious reality. I wouldn’t be too surprised if someone in the modding community is planning everything out already.

Best of all, NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys could make special appearances, or each band can sing each other’s songs. The possibilities are truly endless.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII Content

Final Fantasy XV

For those that don’t know, Final Fantasy XV was originally an entirely different game. Titled Final Fantasy Versus XIII, the game was set within the Final Fantasy XIII’s Fabula Nova Crystallis universe and was set to be an exclusive title for PlayStation 3 consoles. The game’s story revolved around a similar conflict, though details are sparse even to this day. An entirely different character called Stella Nox Fleuret was set to appear, keeping a platonic relationship with Noctis as opposed to the romantic one he shares with Luna.

If a modder can somehow design Versus XIII’s assets into Final Fantasy XV, long-time followers of the franchise would eat the mod right up. The possibility of what could have been with the game’s original concept is still on the mind’s of many, and being able to actually play the game they first saw over a decade over would undoubtedly fill them with nostalgia.
