Pokemon GO was released this time last year and took the world by storm. The augmented-reality mobile game saw millions of players take to the streets in search of rare Pokemon. The game has continued to thrive over the past year and, though the initial craze may have died down, the game still has a dedicated fanbase.
Pokemon GO players in Japan will want to be on the lookout as a recent update to the game has made it possible to catch a rare shiny Pikachu has joined the roster of shiny Pokemon. Now there are a total of three to be caught, after shiny Magikarp and shiny Gyarados. Shiny Pikachu does evolve into a shiny Raichu.
As GameSpot reports, there has been no word on whether this rare Pikachu will be coming to the rest of the world but no doubt there are plenty of Pokemon trainers out there who would be eager to hunt down their own shiny critter. Here’s hoping Pikachu decides to see more of the world!
