Steins;Gate 0, the sequel to the original visual novel, will also be getting an anime adaption, Kadokawa announced today. The anime will be part of the company’s “Steins:Gate World Line 2017-2018 Project,” which apparently is going to include multiple projects, not just this new anime adaption.
There’s currently no word on when the Steins:Gate 0 anime will air, but it is currently in production, and you can see some key art down below. For anyone unfamiliar the original Steins;Gate anime and visual novel focus on Rintaro Okabe, a self proclaimed “mad scientist” who inadvertently discovers the secret of time travel. Steins;Gate 0 picks up at the end of the original, in a specific world line where Okabe accidentally kills his friend and love interest Makise Kurisu. The first Steins;Gate anime can be watched right now on Funimation and Hulu, with both a sub and a dub.
It remains to be seen if Steins;Gate 0 will get an English adaption. We’ll make sure to keep you updated as more info becomes available, and you can take a look at the first trailer below.
