The PS4 remake of the original Yakuza, titled Yakuza Kiwami, is due to launch next month, and SEGA has announced a pre-order bonus via the PlayStation blog. The developer also clarified the inclusion of an interesting gameplay mechanic: Majima Everywhere.

Those who pre-order the game will now receive a PS4 theme for both Akira Nishikiyama and Kazuma Kiryu. The game is $29.99 as a digital purchase in NA.

Details of the Majima Everywhere mechanic were also detailed. Majima is said to have taken it upon himself to train Kiryu, and the updated “everywhere” mechanic has the nutter popping up randomly throughout the game to keep Kiryu on his toes. He’s apparently a tough nut to fight, but players will want to make use of the opportunity as he presents an opportunity to gain special experience. Indeed, Kiryu’s fourth and most powerful fighting style, the Dragon of Dojima style, can only be levelled up by fighting Majima.

Scott Strichart, a producer from SEGA added a caveat of intriguing information about Majima’s random appearances:

One more thing about the Majima Everywhere system: he’s rarely the same enemy twice. He’s unpredictable. That’s right, he has all his battle styles previously featured in Yakuza 0, except they’re just as powerful as they were then, so do expect to get beat down with bats, break-danced into the ground, and of course, stabbed, shanked, and cut when he comes at you in Mad Dog style.

Yakuza Kiwami launches August 29th on PS4.
