All New Classes and Jobs in Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood
Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood is out and it’s time to explore a whole new part of the game. Players will be able to unlock whole new jobs for their characters within the world of Ala’Mihgo. Here’s what we can confirm about the classes and jobs system.
For new FFXIV jobs, you will be able to be a Red Mage or a Samurai. Whether you’re a magic wielder or close combat fighter, the game has you covered this time around. However there are no new tanks or healing jobs. Both Red Mage and Samurai are DPS’, so keep that in mind when deciding which job you want to try out. Red Mage does have some support skills as well, so consider that if you wanted something along those lines but make no mistake, it’s primarily a DPS class.
Samurai
In order to be a Samurai, you don’t need any specific class. You simply need to be level 50 and complete The Way of the Samurai, the Main Scenario Quests, and The Ultimate Weapon. After that, you will be able to be this katana blade wielding job. They focus on the strength stat, share some of their gear with Monks, and love to do a lot of DPS up close and personal.
Red Mage
If you want to be a Red Mage, you once again don’t need any specific class. However, you will need to be level 50 and complete Taking the Red, the Main Scenario Quests, and The Ultimate Weapon. After that, you’ll be all set to be a ranged Red Mage that rocks with a rapier and utilizes both black and white magic. They share their gear with Summoners and Black Mages, and they focus on the Intelligence stat primarily.
That’s all there is to the new jobs in Stormblood! As for classes, well, there aren’t any new ones there. But hey, get your level 50 gameplay on with the Samurai or Red Mage. As of Stormblood, there are no longer any pre-requisite job requirements other than the ones listed above.
