Titan

destiny 2, titan

The Titan will be stepping things up as the tank and vanguard of fireteams thanks to their increased defensive capabilities. Don’t worry about becoming nothing more than a shield, though, because Bungie made sure to make Destiny 2’s bulkiest class have all the same brute force that Guardians of the first game have come to appreciate. So far, two classes have been confirmed for the Titan.

Sentinel

The Sentinel is the embodiment of everything a Titan should be. It’s the void subclass in Destiny 2 and is defined by the shield you can summon that turns players into a hybrid of a juggernaut and Captain America. You’ll receive increased defense, powerful melee abilities, and a ricocheting shield. Take to the front-lines and bring the fight right to the face of any enemy that dares cross you.

Striker

The Striker is one of the returning subclasses in Destiny 2 that has received the most drastic change. Fist of Havoc is no longer a one and done super, instead turning your Guardian into a walking, electrified behemoth that can use ground slam or powerful shoulder charges. Destiny 2’s Striker Titans also maintain their defensive focus this time around thanks to an ability that allows players to summon a wall of light to create instant cover and stem the tide of aggressive enemies.

Hunter

destiny 2, hunter

Destiny 2’s Hunter is still a master of combat, being an absolute nightmare during one on one fights. They rely on speed, range, and precision to emerge victorious from sticky situations, and can lock down areas with various traps. This class has two confirmed subclasses.

Arcstrider

One of the brand new subclasses, the Arcstrider, replaces the Bladedancer but remains relatively the same when compared to its predecessor. It focuses on precise, close-ranged combat that weighs agility and high damage against needing to get closer than most Hunters are comfortable with. Its super will certainly proves to be the bane of many Guardians within tight Crucible matches.

Gunslinger

The Gunslinger returns in Destiny 2 and it’s just as powerful and geared towards dealing with major targets as it was in the first game. This is the class with the least amount of change, with only the additions of a dodge roll and the ability to let off six rounds rather than just three when you trigger the Golden Gun.

Warlock

Destiny 2, warlock

The Warlock was one of the stars of the Destiny 2 gameplay reveal event. Of the three newly announced subclasses, only the Dawnblade was playable. It replaces Sunsinger as the Solar subclass, but it maintains the ferociousness you’d expect of a space wizard. Making a return is the Voidwalker which has also seen some change to make it stand right alongside the other new classes.

Dawnblade

The Dawnblade trades in the ability of self resurrection for flight, a flaming sword of justice, and legitimate healing abilities. It’s great for crowd control and general DPS, and the super ability is perfect for clearing a full room of enemies, or just reminding a boss who’s really in charge. Outside of the Dawnblade’s super, it plays as a powerful support character that can buff and heal allies while keeping adds to a minimum.

Voidwalker

The Voidwalker has made a return to the fold as well, playing mostly the same as it did before, though with a drastically upgraded Nova Bomb. The build available during the reveal and the beta has a slower super, but it effects a large area thanks to tracking and its ability to split up into multiple tracking bolts. The second path, though, allows for a healing machine that fully controls its Void light. It will make all the difference with taking the front lines and supporting your fireteam.
