The developers at Lizardcube are just about ready to launch their remake of Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap, and they’ve released a gorgeous launch trailer in celebration. The trailer shows off some of the various transformations you’ll go through in the game like Hawk-Man and Lizard-Man, and has plenty of gameplay to show for each one.
The remake simply titled Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap features gorgeous new hand-drawn visuals, as well as an orchestrated soundtrack. Players also have the option of switching the game into 8-bit mode, which comes with password saves and everything. Here’s a description of the game from DotEmu, and you can watch the launch trailer down below.
“Boasting beautiful, hand-drawn animations and a re-orchestrated soundtrack, the cult classic returns with a unique blend of exploration, action, and adventure. Play as Lizard-Man, Mouse-Man, Piranha-Man, Lion-Man, and Hawk-Man, and use their unique abilities to uncover the land’s deepest secrets. Switch in real-time between the original retro graphics and the visually stunning modern remake, and input your old Sega Master System passcode to unlock all of your old saves and progression – just how you left them in 1989.”
Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap launches on April 18 for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. For more info on the title, head over to the official website.
