In addition to the first trailer of Star Wars Battlefront II, the panel held by EA revealed that the lead characters of the game will be receiving a prequel novel (that, much like the game, is also in canon). Inferno Squad, led by the game’s protagonist Iden Versio, watch the destruction of the Death Star II at the end of Return of the Jedi. Furious at the loss, the game will cover 30 years of their story between Jedi and Force Awakens as they work to take revenge against the Rebellion. Check out the cover down below.

The Inferno Squad novel will be written by Christie Golden, writer of novels for Starcraft, Star Trek, and Star Wars novels. The novel of the same name will be set four years before the events of Battlefront II and cover how the different members of the squad came together and learned to rely on one another. It’s set to release in stores on July 25.
