How to Get a Paraglider – The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Recommended Videos

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild features a massive open world for you to explore, so you’ll want to get a few items to help you get around. Luckily you do have a few options like catching horse, riding on your shield, or primarily using a nifty Paraglider that you’ll gain access to. This item allows Link to jump from great heights and glide long distances, easily covering travel he needs to do in Breath of the Wild. The catch, however, is that you’ll need to play the game for a bit in order to unlock the Paraglider.

Shortly after starting Breath of the Wild you’ll encounter a mysterious old man who promises to exchange the Paraglider for four Spirit Orbs. These orbs are found by completing the trials within four different shrines; the Magnesis Trial in Oman Au Shrine, Bomb Trail in the Ja Baij Shrine, Cryonis Trial in Keh Namut Shrine, and the Stasis Trial in Owa Daim Shrine. Use your map and your Sheika Slate to find these locations, then complete the trials within. Once you’ve done this, the man will appear again and tell Link he’ll only get his reward if you can find him. He disappears to the point in the exact middle of the four shrines, which just so happens to be the Temple of Time.

If you haven’t found the temple already, simply bring up your map and draw an imaginary line between the four shrines, then head to the middle. Once you’re at the Temple, pray at the giant statue and you’ll be given the choice of a Heart Container or a Stamina upgrade. You can choose either one depending on which you think you need more. After praying you’ll hear the old man’s voice asking you to make your way to the roof. Simply head outside the temple and search along the outer wall until you see a ladder, climb up and follow the edge of the roof until you finally see him.

Here you’ll be given a bit of story for Breath of the Wild, before finally being granted the Paraglider. Now you’re free to jump off and enjoy Hyrule from the air. Before you go, however, make sure you open the chest in the same room as the old man. Inside you’ll find a Soldier’s Bow, which can give your range attack quite a boost.
