Only two days away from its official release in Japan, Square Enix has released a new TV spot for NieR: Automata, and it looks pretty bloody and brutal. The opening scenes are taken from the amazarashi collaboration music video, but we also get a quick glimpse at some gameplay bits as well. You can check out the TV spot down below.
At the very end of the TV spot, we get a quick scene where 9S seems to be repeatedly stabbing a sword into 2B’s chest. I wouldn’t consider this a spoiler, especially since we know our characters are androids, and their physical bodies are pretty much irrelevant to them and they can always call down new bodies anyway. Furthermore, the game will feature multiple endings, so it’s likely that this scene is simply a prelude to one of the game’s many conclusions, and doesn’t give away what’s really going on behind the scenes.
In addition to that, Square Enix also announced via their recent Dengeki livestream that the game will have DLC, though we don’t have any information on what those will entail.
NieR: Automata is set to be released for the PS4 on March 7. A PC release has also been announced for 2017.
