As the days wind down until Sony’s upgraded console PS4 Pro hits the streets, we’re beginning to see more examples of how the added capability of HDR are upgrading older PS4 games for the better, and Sucker Punch’s Infamous Second Son seems to be no exception.
Posted by NeoGaf user Robot Pants, the following are a collection of Second Son off-screen grabs with HDR on and off. “Ok now THIS looks incredible. Definite difference over the regular version. Sometimes they look like completely different times of day when you switch between HDR and non. A ton more detail,” Robot Pants said.

An important takeaway from this is that, while the difference with HDR can be noticed in screengrabs like this, they don’t really do much to communicate how much better games can look. It seems like, similar to 4K gameplay, it’s something only truly appreciated when seen in-person. Infamous Second Son is just one of many games that have already been announced to receive HDR support patches, also including The Last of Us: Remastered and The Witness.
