The Sims 4: Dine Out allows you to build a variety of restaurant venues to perfectly match the cuisine you want to serve up for your customers. Whether that’s Italian bistro, or a classic American diner, you’ll be able to customize all manner of different aspects of your eatery.

Want to build a small outdoor patio area for some Al Fresco dining? Go for it. Or perhaps you want to make your sign be the best in the history of restaurants. Whatever you want to do to make your restaurant your own in The Sims 4: City Living, is completely up to you. Of course, you won’t just be building the restaurant, but more on that later.

Wine and Dine

The Sims 4, Dine Out

If you’re more into visiting restaurants than designing them then The Sims 4: Dine Out has you covered here too. You’ll be able to visit a variety of different restaurants as part of the expansion. Whether you want to catch up with your friends, head out for a meal with the kids, or go on a romantic date with the Sim you’ve been courting, there’s plenty of options and potential to suit the mood you’re going for.

In terms of the pre-made restaurants you can drop into your Sims’ world, you’ve got a range of options from Seafood, high-end Italian, diners, and date-night restaurants. Whatever the occasion, you’ll be able to find the perfect place for your Sims to go.

Become the Owner

The Sims 4, Dine Out

Once you’ve designed and customized your restaurant as you see fit, you’ll be able to become the owner and decide exactly how it’s run. Don’t like something that’s on the menu? Completely change it up. Or perhaps you just want to change the staff, the opening hours, the pricing or the uniforms of your staff. There’s a huge amount of customization and control you’ll have over your restaurant, but these decisions will ultimately affect how popular it is.

Push the prices up too much and customers will be unlikely to return, the same applies for the quality of service, and what’s available on your menu. Your management decisions will ultimately affect how your restaurant ranks out of five stars. The higher the ranking, the more guests will want to dine with you throughout the day. The more successful your restaurant becomes, you’ll begin to also gain access to a range of both temporary and permanent perks to help boost you further on your way to success.

Experimental Foods

If you think your Sim is the kind who likes to try something new, then experimental foods are pretty much designed exclusively or them. The pre-made restaurant, Chez Llama, serves experimental dishes when you place it in your world. You’ll be able to try Glazed Heirloom Bamboo Rolls, Volcano Pasta, and Jungle Moss Egg with Lavender Wisps.

With such exotic foods right in front of your Sims, don’t be surprised if you see them taking photos and then hanging them on their walls to remember the exquisite occasion. Try each and every experimental food to complete the collection.

New Items

The Sims 4, Dine Out

As with every The Sims 4 expansion, Dine Out brings with it a number of items based on the dining out theme. You’ll be able to warm up the outdoors with the Warming Lamp, add aquariums to your restaurants, customize your own signs, and seat your guests in cozy booths.

There’s also a number of decorative objects you use to spruce up the place too. The restaurant world is your oyster to design and customize as you see fit.

Where, When, How Much?

The Sims 4, Dine Out

The Sims 4: Dine Out is out now for PC and Mac and will set you back $19.99. Do note that the price represents an expansion that doesn’t quite pack in as much content as, say, the upcoming City Living expansion. However, if you’re looking for some sweet places for your Sims to wine and dine at, or just want to try your hand at running one yourself then this might be for you.
