Mafia III may have been beat to the No. 1 spot in the UK game charts, but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t had a very successful launch. In fact, Mafia III’s first week of sales has been the best the series has ever seen and has outdone Mafia II’s sales by 58.7%.
As VideoGamer reports, Mafia III has enjoyed a very strong debut despite some talk regarding the quality of the PC version of the game. Players have been frustrated by the fact that, upon release, the game was locked at 30 frames-per-second.
2K has since released a patch which unlocks the frame rate on PC but some issues regarding the frame rate still persist. Hopefully 2K will be able to sure up the PC version quickly before PC gamers get too frustrated.
The critical response to Mafia III has been mixed. It’s been praised for its engaging story, excellent soundtrack, and tackling of racial issues during the 60’s, but has been criticized for its bugs, varied graphics, and uninspired world.
